Myrtle Beach’s scarce affordable housing inventory has driven some potential McLeod Health employees out of the market, a company vice president told city leaders on Tuesday.
“We haven’t had a hard time recruiting, [but] one thing that we are seeing is that housing for the $40,000 to $60,000 employee is really hard,” McLeod Loris Seacoast CEO Monica Vehige said during a city council workshop. “Attainable housing for that true middle class, that’s a lot of our support services.”
