For the first time in 50 years Andrew Young and Jesse Jackson return together to the motel balcony where their mentor, Martin Luther King Jr., was fatally shot in 1968.

On that day back in 1968, hope seemed lost. But King’s spirit has endured for half a century, manifesting itself in all manner of peaceful protest, most recently in the March For Our Lives demonstrations, which Young calls “Martin Luther King on steroids.”
How you die should never be as important as how you live, and how King lived is now “a frame of reference” for those fighting for freedom and justice all over the world, Jackson says.
