NCRC Hires Gregory Dyson as COO

Meet Gregory Dyson, NCRC’s new Chief Operating Officer! As COO, he will be instrumental in developing NCRC’s strategic priorities and all of the organization’s day-to-day operations.

Bringing more than 20 years of executive leadership and management experience, Gregory most recently served as COO at the American Nurses Association (ANA) Enterprise. Before that, he was the senior vice president and chief operating officer of ICMA Retirement Corporation, a Washington, DC-based retirement services provider.

To help get to know Gregory better, we asked him a few questions.

Welcome, Gregory!

What’s something unique about you?

I played the piano from 2nd grade to 8th grade. I went from Chop Sticks to Clair de Lune. I could read music and I enjoyed it. It would be great to pick it up again. Here’s one for you, I am a native; born and raised here in the District of Columbia. All of my jobs over the years have been within 6 blocks of the White House. This is the closest!

What drew you to NCRC?

#justeconomy. It doesn’t get any clearer than that. Access to credit, Housing, Health equity, wealth building. We are in this together. Let’s be the difference

What are you most proud of in your career?

I am proud of every day that I am able to do something for the betterment of others in society — helping them achieve higher social, economic and educational status. The one thing would be my work with others to get Congress to establish National Save for Retirement Week. Working with dozens of retirement groups, associations and local communities to drive awareness about saving, trying to make a difference for the LMI and BIPOC communities that had been traditionally left out of the retirement readiness discussion.

What’s your favorite nonwork activity?

Keeping fit and healthy. Treadmill and Elliptical machine 6 out of 7 days a week.
