Rosemary (“Rose”) Ramirez, a distinguished first-generation Mexican American attorney, currently serves as Corporate Counsel and Director of Compliance at NCRC. As corporate counsel, Rosemary represents NCRC in legal matters and ensures the organization’s adherence to legal and regulatory standards while championing corporate integrity and ethical practices.

Rosemary’s journey into the legal field is marked by her commitment to social justice and advocacy. She earned her Juris Doctorate from the American University Washington College of Law where she participated in two clinical programs – Immigrant Justice Clinic and Community Economic and Equity Development Clinic. Prior to law school, she completed her Bachelor of Arts and Masters in Nonprofit Management at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL.

As a respected thought leader, Rosemary has worked to combat discriminatory practices and promote housing opportunities through enforcement of Civil Rights, Fair Housing, U.S. Banking and Consumer Protection laws.  Her work has advanced the missions of nonprofit organizations on issues related to fair housing, fair lending, and corporate governance.

In her current role at NCRC, Rosemary is responsible for overseeing the organization’s legal functions and compliance program.  She provides strategic legal advice to the executive team, ensuring that the organization meets the highest standard of integrity and accountability. Her civil rights background continues to inform her approach, fostering an organizational culture that values fairness and transparency.

Rosemary works out of NCRC’s DC office.  In her free time, she enjoys cooking, traveling, and writing articles for various media outlets.  She also always makes time to excel as the “cool Tia” to her nieces and nephews.

Her personal and professional journey is a testament to her resilience, passion, and unwavering commitment to justice and equity.
