Today, the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) released a series of maps showing the locations of bank branches and “alternative financial services providers” in Baltimore, Maryland. The maps show bank branch and “alternative financial services provider” locations based on income level and percentage of minority population. The maps show 122 bank branches in Baltimore, Maryland and 166 “alternative financial services providers.” NCRC created the maps for the Middle Class Prosperity Project, a collaborative effort by Senator Elizabeth Warren, Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Economic Policy, and Rep. Elijah E. Cummings, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, to focus greater congressional and public attention on the challenges facing the middle class, and to formulate and implement concrete policy changes in order to address these challenges.
